Final UPDATE: It passed! You can tint your windows now!

August 25th 2009 is shaping up to be a good day for Illinois drivers...

UPDATE: Ok, so here's the secret, Aug 25th was the deadline for Governor Quinn to respond to HB3325, a bill that would allow Illinois drivers to apply window tint to the front side windows of their cars. Quinn sent the bill back with an amendatory veto, correcting a small flaw in the draft, however he has stated his support for the bill's objective.

Currently the bill is scheduled to be read in the House and the Senate on Oct 14th, and will almost certainly pass again, so come next summer you can tint all the windows on your car.

The allowed tint under the current draft would be 50% in the front with 30% in the back, 35% all around, or the currently legal tints of nothing in the front and as dark as you want in the back.

UPDATE #2: The House has overridden the governor's veto, in theory the bill will be read and voted on in the Senate the 28th, 29th or 30th, although it hasn't been placed on the calender yet.

UPDATE #3: It has been placed on the Senate calender to be voted on the 28th.

Did anybody happen to see Chris Mathews and Ari Flischer today on hardball? It was almost awkward to watch. Both ideologues went back and forth, throwing bombs from their respective ends of the political spectrum, and in the end it got down right snippy! I think Flischer punked out Mathews pretty good a few times, but both were playing defense for their side. And afterwards, Mathews did his classic laugh sound byte HA!

OBAMA REVERSES BUSH ADMINISTRATION STEM CELL POLICY

President Obama signed an executive order today, reversing the Bush administration order of 2001, allowing stem cell research to resume. Obama allocated new federal funding for stem cell research and promised no scientific data will be "distorted or concealed to serve a political agenda." Top republicans as expected are not pleased. House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio said (the president) "rolled back important protections for innocent life, further dividing our nation at a time when we need greater unity to tackle the challenges before us." Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell added "I support biomedical research and I believe the administration would be far better served by directing taxpayer funds to research on non-embryonic stem cells, which is both effective and ethical." Ahhhhhhh don't you just love partisan politics? Wow i really do love the way politics has involved in this country in my life time. It really is super. This GET SHIT DONE attitude really just makes me proud to be an American.

MSNBC NO MORE BPA IN BABY BOTTLES

States Attorneys from New Jersey, Connecticut, and Delaware wrote a letter in October to ask 11 companies to stop putting BPA in baby bottles. BPA is Bisphenol-A a chemical used in plastic manufacturing that studies suggest can be harmful to infants. Six companies in Connecticut agreed to stop using the chemical, Avent, Disney First Years, Gerber, Dr. Brown, Playtex and Evenflow.

This brings up the question I always ask, if it is harmful, then WHY THE FUCK WAS IT IN THERE TO BEGIN WITH?

Every day it seems some crooked Illinois politician is in the news. Today there's another political shocker. Supposedly, newly appointed U.S. Senator Roland Burris admits that Rod Blagojevich's brother asked him for a $10,000 campaign contribution before his appointment. Burris told the Illinois House Impeachment Committee in January that he never had a conversation with Blagojevich or any of his aids about the vacant Senate seat, or any contributions being involved. Now Burris is being investigated for purgery. THERE'S A SHOCKER! Man, I am so sick of all this poltical dishonesty in Illinois and around the globe. I haven't watched the news in months which is something I have never done before, because I am so sick of all this corruption and dishonesty. How about all you politicians do your job and serve the people that elect you like you're supposed to! That's your fuckin job!

Blagojevich Gone

Today, the 40th Governor of Illinois was unanimously voted 59 - 0 to be removed from office by the Illinois Senate. In addition to his removal, the Senate barred Blagojevich from ever holding public office in the State. This ends two months of the Governor's controversial grip to power. He refused to resign from the start, even with the resignation of his indicted Chief of Staff John Harris. From there, Blagojevich pushed to fill Obama's vacant Senate seat with the appointment of Roland Burris, making a several week long fight within the political arena. Weeks prior to his removal, he went on a media tear, going from talk shows to news outlets in hope of repairing his tainted image. The appearances were less than fascinating. The Governor dodged question upon question, making a desperate plea to the people. My personal favorite defense showed up in almost every interview. It is the same defense Nixon took regarding his wire-tapings. In response to his mouthy quotes throughout the tapes, Blagojevich claimed they were snippets taken out of context. I don't understand that argument. I'm not sure how "the Senate seat is a fucking valuable thing, you don't just give it away for nothing," can be justified. Beats me. For now, at least the people of Illinois can breathe easy. The Governor is out. But it isn't the end for Rod Blagojevich. He still faces criminal charges with a significant chance of jail time. His 47 minute plea didn't win him a single vote in the impeachment trial. I doubt his word will mean a thing in court.

Now we had that lil, teeny weeny, microscopic bailout for banks etc last yr! Well the ceo at the time John Thain decided to use a ton of our money from the bailout to give his office a 1.22 million dollar makeover! Also used over a billion dollars for bonuses to his board. So let me get this straight he begged for money from our government, begged his company for his own bonus, and this same guy cut jobs because his company lost money. Think about all those people who lost jobs because of him. Think of all the free healthcare we could given children for the next 60-70 yrs from the bailout. Now theres no recourse for us to reclaim the money. Especially since his ass resigned this week. So all the money merril has to pay back doesn't come out of his pocket. Now since by the law we can not do anything; i propose the idea of round the clock protests outside his home til he atleast pays the money back he used for his office to a charity. Atleast now there is a commisson being created in D.C. to create new laws and regulate wallstreet. So for all those college students waiting to get into wallstreet, when youre only making 45k instead of 150k a yr , you can blame John thain's greedy ass for it!
Speaking of the bailout, because the books were in such a mess when bank of america bought merril lynch. That they had to be given another 20 billion dollars today out of our bare pockets! grrrr

Now monday night this week fox news said that george w bush inherited 9/11 and that Al-Qaeda was created during his admin. First off i do believe bush became pres on the 19th of jan...so he had a a few months to prepare even. Also when he was told about the threat he said it wasnt a threat and ignored his people on the subject (which this info can be found on any government website go look for yourself) When in the 90s bill clinton went after people from Al-Qaeda...republicans said oh hes just deflecting off monica. Even with the fact attacks were already made against our country. I wonder why no one has questioned these reps after 9/11 why they blocked alot of clinton's plans to take them out?! Speaking of Al-Qaeda , first off they were created in the late 80s from radical members of the Afghan mujahedeen , granted not all of them keyword the radicals. And guess what after the afgan war our gov put them into power via secret cia missions because we wanted a stable democratic gov there....sound familiar? Now it was already known amoung the people there how radical this group was. Also a reason why we're hated along with the Iran-contra affair aswell. Guess what presidents were incharge during both events...Reagan and bush sr! Another reason why they hate us, is because during the afgan-soviet war. We left them out to dry just like we did to the cubans during the bay of pigs. Imagine you're fighting for your freedom and a powerful nation is backing you. So I was watching the news earlier and I hear that fat slob Rush Limbaugh has said yet another retarded and idiotic statement. So Mr. Right-Wing nutjob Sean Hannity interviews him on Fixed...oops I mean Fox News about President Obama. So at the end of the interview, Hannity asks him "Do you want Obama to succeed?". Well Rush goes on and on and then finally says "No I want him to fail". Also he mentions that we shouldn't basically "bend over" for Obama because he is an African American president. We all know Rush is one of those ideological right-wing crazies out there, who just guzzle that conservative kool-aid all day and who wishes Ronald Reagan was reborn and could run again. Well he says some dumb border-line racist shit half the time but now hes saying un-american statements. Yes un-american, If you flat out say that you want a president to fail then you are such a retard it can't even comprehend the basics of logic. I mean honestly, if the opposite party does a bad job as president does that make you feel all warm inside? Does it make it feel wonderful that you can bash that political party constantly over a bad president? Who amongst us wanted George W. Bush, for the last 8 years, to fail? I would think and hope that anyone out there would of wanted Bush to be more of a successful president. Who wants a bad president? I guess Rush does apparently. Okay I admit, I missed the historic inauguration on Tuesday due to my shitty job, so I missed all the hoopla and what not, but all's I have heard in the days after is about this oath of office mistake. So I looked it up, and Chief Justice Roberts couldn't memorize a few lines, and said the word faithfully out of place. So what's the big deal? Fox News anchor Chris Wallace actually had the gaul to say on live national t.v. that Obama isn't really the president of the United States. I mean are you serious? Do you not have a fucking brain or conscious? A re you even a journalist or just a mouth piece? You dumb fucking idiot. Nowhere in the constitution does it say anything about taking the oath of office. Ever heard of the constitution? You seriously are going to say that the inauguration ceremony is in the constitution? The 20th amendment states and I quote "Section 1. The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January, and the terms of Senators and Representatives at noon on the 3d day of January, of the years in which such terms would have ended if this article had not been ratified; and the terms of their successors shall then begin." That's it! Nothing about an oath! It's a recent formality you dumb ass! When journalists obviously show their political agenda by flat out lying they should be fired. PERIOD. And even worse in the age of 24/7 cable media, Obama says the oath again in his office in private yesterday. WTF! GEEZUS! WHAT IS EVERYONE HIGH? BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA WAS PRESIDENT EFFECTIVE NOON JANUARY 20TH 2009, WHETHER HE'S IN THE PARADE, AT THE INAUGURATION, TAKING A SHIT OR EATING AT MCDONALDS!
